THE SOCIAL ROLE OF THE DHARMA BHAKTI VIHARA IN MAINTAINING RELIGIOUS HARMONY IN BELAKANG PADANG ISLAND

Abstract

This research aims to explain the social role of Vihara Dharma Bhakti in maintaining religious harmony on the island of Behind Padang and the supporting and inhibiting factors in efforts to maintain religious harmony at Vihara Dharma Bhakti. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with a religious approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. For data reliability using the triangulation method. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of data reduction, data presentation, as well as conclusions and verification. The results of the research show that Vihara Dharma Bhakti has a vision and mission, namely to create Buddhists in the Rear Padang District who are religious and tolerant of the people around them. The role of the Mudi Vihara Dharma Bhakti Youth Brotherhood organization, apart from carrying out religious and educational activities, the organization also carries out social activities such as mutual cooperation, social service, health education. The supporting and inhibiting factors in efforts to maintain religious harmony at the Dharma Bhakti Vihara are funding, management and implementation systems.
