SIMBIOSA uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors retain copyright along with scholarly use rights, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau Islands University, is granted publishing and distribution rights.

Open access authors retain copyright in their papers, and all open access articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-SA), which allows others to distribute and copy articles as long as the original work is properly cited.

Users may not represent authors as endorsers of adaptations of their articles, and may not alter articles in a way that damages the author's honor or reputation.
